Eve has been revealed to be Helen Cutter in disguise; she has stolen the artefact, activated an anomaly and escaped into the future. Vowing to stop her no matter what the cost, the A.R.C. team decide to split into two parties: while Danny, Connor and Abby journey through the anomaly located at the airfield, Becker and Sarah investigate a second portal that has suddenly re-opened at Christine Johnson’s M.O.D. base. In the future, amid the ruins of the devastated city, Danny leads his team-mates to where he first saw ‘Eve’, at the entrance to an underground base. They soon come under attack from three flying Megopterans, but the creatures’ assault is abruptly curtailed when they fly into an anomaly – the one leading back to Christine’s base. When Captain Becker and Sarah arrive at the disused M.O.D. facility they encounter the deadly Megopterans; using their wits, Becker and Sarah manage to trap one of the creatures and electrocute the others; then, having found that the anomaly has now closed, they head back to the airfield to await their colleagues’ return. Having survived a confrontation with a Future Predator, Danny, Abby and Connor make an important discovery: the underground complex is in fact a future version of their own base, the A.R.C. Searching its darkened rooms they find a hand-held device similar to the one used by ‘Eve’; they then find Helen, busily working at one of the base’s control consoles. Easily outwitting Danny’s attempt to overpower her, Helen holds the team at gunpoint while she activates the anomaly map within the artefact, downloading it into her own hand-held device; then, to Connor’s horror, she smashes the artefact and escapes through another anomaly, leaving them stranded in the future. Luckily, Connor and Danny reactivate the console with a crude power supply lashed up with the batteries from their torches; accessing the A.R.C.’s systems they learn that Helen has travelled back to ‘Site 333’, located in the Rift Valley in South East Asia. Connor realises Helen’s insane plan to save the planet: she is heading for ‘The Cradle of Life’ to kill the first hominids, to wipe out humanity before it ever began. Recalling a code he found inscribed on the artefact, Connor manages to unlock Helen’s records and transfer them into the portable device he found; opening an anomaly, Connor, Abby and Danny leave just as a pack of Future Predators close in on them. Now in the Jurassic Era, Danny Connor and Abby begin a search for Helen, only to come under attack from a pack of juvenile Raptors; Danny uses a stun grenade to deal with the vicious predators, but Connor is injured in the attempt. Leaving Abby to stay behind to protect her friend, Danny sets off in pursuit of Helen. Elsewhere, Helen activates the anomaly that will take her to Site 333; however, as she steps through she is attacked by a Pterosaur, and fails to notice that she has dropped her anomaly controller. Following Helen’s trail, Danny enters the portal and finds himself in a rocky valley; he is unaware that an adult Raptor is close behind, having followed him through the anomaly. Finding a group of hominids by a river, Helen poisons the water with a canister of toxic powder. When Danny finally arrives on the scene he is shocked to find the hominids are either dead or dying – it looks like Helen has finally won…
